This lovely B24S Cabriolet was delivered new to Carlo di Walther Zanardi of Rome in late 1956, finished in Azzurra Cielo (sky blue) with Pelle Nocciola (hazelnut leather). Zanardi, purportedly a wealthy pharmacy owner, retained the striking Lancia for roughly two years before it’s subsequent sale to owners in Perugia, Rome and Naples, eventually entering a small, but well-known Italian collection where it remained in long term stewardship. During its time in Italy, the Lancia received its ASI homologation, number 8910, and “High Fidelity” Lancia club membership.

Eventually, in 2007, the B24S was presented at auction by Coys in Monaco at which point is was acquired by the well-known, and especially discerning enthusiast Jack Braam Ruben in the Netherlands. The owner of numerous world-class collector cars, the B24S was appreciated for it’s correctness and inherent quality, and remained at Braam Ruben’s home in St. Tropes. Some years later, the late Oscar Davis, one of America’s better regarded collectors, visited and subsequently purchased the Lancia.

The B24S was subsequently imported to the US and stabled with some of Italy’s best road and racing cars. After Mr. Davis’ passing, the Lancia was offered in his estate auction at RM Sotheby’s and prior to its sale, the Lancia received minor necessary service work by D.L. George. The Lancia was then acquired by the current owner, a Southern California Italian car enthusiast.

Today, this B24S Cabriolet remains a highly correct example, retaining its original engine, numbered on its block, heads and sump, as well as its original numbered transaxle and many other mechanical bits. The Lancia remains in its factory delivered colors scheme, having received paintwork and upholstery at an unknown point. Best described as a very nice driver level car, the age of the cosmetics highlight the cars integrity and inherent quality. Inspection will show that this Lancia has not suffered, and benefits from regular use and maintenance, and cosmetic attention as needed. It has never been fully disassembled, and drives as one would expect for a sound, original example.

The B24S is complete with a toolkit and owner’s manual, and is documented by production information from the Registro Aurelia confirming its originality and its early Italian registration records.

Ideal for the most popular of driving events in the US and Europe, the B24S is considered one of the finest cars of the era with unmatched mechanical prowess and advancements.
